Printmaking to Learn Science

As a component of an artist residency through Joshua Tree National Park, we collaborate with students to create prints of organisms and science processes.  Artists develop illustrations of iconic Joshua trees and use printmaking techniques to fashion Joshua tree trading cards with which students trade and generate stories.  Onsite “pop-up” screen printing studios are a fun way to incorporate designs from the clothing line Seeking Symbiosis while educating students and communities about species interactions and scientific processes.
