Printmaking to Learn Science

As a component of an artist residency through Joshua Tree National Park, we collaborate with students to create prints of organisms and science processes.¬†¬†Artists develop illustrations of iconic Joshua trees and use printmaking techniques to fashion Joshua tree trading cards with which students trade and generate stories.¬† Onsite “pop-up” screen printing studios are a fun way to incorporate designs from the clothing line Seeking Symbiosis while educating students and communities about species interactions and scientific processes.
