Hey JTree!

Participatory Art to Fall in Love With Joshua Trees

Hey JTree is part of an artist residency in Joshua Tree National Park, and an online “dating” or pen-pal site for meeting Joshua trees. The goal of Hey JTree is to actively enhance interaction between research, visitors to the park, and online audiences with collected data from individual trees using text, photographs, art, and short video clips of charismatic Joshua trees set to music.  Visit Hey JTree to learn about the ecological information for each tree, see where they live, experience art and music created for each tree, and check out the dating style profile (similar to online dating sites) written for each tree.  Participate as a “citizen artist” by submitting “love letters”, poetry, music or art to a tree of your choice, which will be uploaded to the project site generating a collective shared love and experience for individual trees.
